I am autocad 2000 user. and I work for one consultant farms.
In these days, I face the hardware lock error message again and again.
I cann't work the whole day.
I can open the drawing only just 1or two mins and then the error message appear and exit from AutoCAD. I will write down the error message below: (please check and reply it for me)

HARDWARE LOCK ERROR

Please check the connection to the hardware lock
and Retry. If the problem persists, contact your local
authorized AutoCAD dealer.


If somebody know how to solve the problem, please reply me.

If acad works for 1 or 2 minutes then the hardware lock isn't working at all.
Speak to your acad reseller.
