Is there a way to keynote a filled region? I could see a situation where it is easier to portray some complicated assembly as a filled region instead of a component. If necessary I guess I could always create that specific assembly as a filled region in a detail component family. Just wondering if anyone had another work around?

You have to create a detail component. Easiest way is to do the filled region or masking region in the drawing and copying the outlines in the edit mode and pasting them to the family. With lines only I sometines create a component and "model in place" use model lines only which can then be tagged and keynoted. We do this for plumbing lines and their like. It does not work for filled regions though.

You can also use a User Keynote for situations like this.
