View Full Version : Preferences That Don't "Stick"

Hi all.

Some of the users in our office have encountered an odd phenomenon. Many of the settings within revit, that "stick" on my machine, will not "stick" on theirs.

For example, on my machine, when I select the wall tool, I can set the height of the wall to be 8'-3". I create a wall, and it works fine. I go to another tool and manipulate some other stuff. When I come back to the wall tool, a height of 8'-3" is still set for next wall I create.

Not so on these user's machines. Regardless of what you set, the next wall will always default to 10'-0", or whatever the default is.

This is just one example. I've noticed a number of places where this scenario occurs. The button "Save the Local File after "Save to Central," will not retain it's previous state. I'm concerned that this is a larger issue for their machines.

Has anyone encountered this? Anyone know where to start looking for problems?

It might have something to do with either the permissions a user has on their machine, or the permissions on the program directory, or possible the permissions on the Revit ini file itself.
