WHEN I DIM A DIAMETER IT PLACES THE DIA. SYMBOL BEFORE THE # IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE IT SO THE DIA. SYMBOL IS A SUFFIX NOT A PREFIXX. WITHOUT OVERRIDING THE MEASUREMENT?

Congrats on your first post!
(FYI: in the future you might want to take your caps lock off...it's considered yelling. I know most of us have our caps on for cad work, but it's just a courtesy thing)
I would think you would want the dia symbol first since it automatically places the "R" first when doing a radius measurement as well....just for consistancy.
I have ABS07, I quickly perused the Dimstyles/Modifications, Format/Drawing Settings, and did a right click/properties and did not see an option to switch the dia symbol location around.
There is a section to add a prefix or a suffix inside of the dimstyles/modification and on the right click/properties. I suppose if you really wanted to you could maybe change the suffix to the good old fashioned "%%c" to get the dia symbol to show up. You may have to create a new dimstyle for just that situation. I'm not 100% sure how you'd get rid of the prefix dia symbol though.
Not sure if any of this is any help, but maybe it will get you looking in the right direction.

Thanks for the advice. I will turn off the caps, as to why I want it at the end, it is up to the boss. The set of dia. i am drawing are for a catalogue so... I also couldn't finda way to change the %%C to the suffix from prefix without typing in %%C but thanks. I will be conversing with all of you again.

I'll keep my eyes open and if I stumble across the way to get rid of the prefix version I'll get back and post it here for you.
I totally understand having to do stuff differently due to what your boss, or the company in general wants.
Good luck and welcome to AUGI!

There is a fairly easy way to do this. Only problem is it'll do it for all dimensions so you might want to set up a seperate dim style just for diameters.
Modify the dim style and go to the "Primary Units" tab
In the "Prefix" box, enter a space to prevent the Ø symbol appearing before the dimension.
In the "Suffix" box, enter %%C (or ALT+0216)
This'll give you the Ø symbol after the dimension instead of before it. Instruction above are for 2002 but should still be the same for other versions.

I'll have to test that out in ABS07.
Thanks!

The way I have my dims set up there is the mm on top and imp. on bottom in [] brakets.
the space clears the dia. symbol from the prefix. However adding %%C to the suffix only adds in at the end of the mm and the start of the imp. Also it puts them on the same line instead of on top of each other. I am using AutoCad LT.

Which baffles me since they gave us the "AutoCaps" feature a while back. . . :???:

If you are asking me to explain. I am talking about the autocaps feature in m-text. if yo uright-click in your m-text box and go down and select the 'autocaps' itme you will now get everythign yo utype in caps, even when your caps are off.
Yet I still sit next to a guy who doesn't use it . . . even after telling him . . . multiple times . . . :banghead:

I think it's just an old habits die hard sort of thing.
I have tables that I have forced to do all caps so that I can work w/ my caps lock off as well.
Oh well... :)
