Split wall not working

I've got a file where when I click on the split tool and go to my wall to split it in plan it does not allow me to split.

i.e the temp dimensions and split point do not appear. This applies to all the walls and I can't figure out what the problem is.

When I cut and paste the walls into a new project I can then split those walls in the new project.

Anyone have any ideas ?

That's weird. What if you try splitting vertically or horizontally in an elevation view or on a 3D view?

Also, if the walls' top or bottom are attached to something, try detaching first, then split and attach back. See if it works.

Just tried your suggestions but they didn't work.

Was tearing my hair out and about to move on to other things when I noticed the 'pin' symbol !!

Someone has pinned the walls in position. Un-pinned the walls and now the split command works fine again.

Pinned walls? This one would be very hard to figure out without looking at the file... I'm glad you solved the problem.


Please post simplified model here or send it to Support for investigation. Thanks.

Why send it to support? Isn't it a normal operation? Pinned walls can't be moved, we can't edit its sketch, can't drag the blue dots, can't be splitted.... As far as I know, Revit has always worked like that with pinned walls. Or do you think it has always been a bug?
