How do you dimension your joist spacings on a bar joist roof?

How I would like the dimension to read would be something like; 4 SPA. @ 4'-6" = 18'-0"
But because the joists slope the actual dimension that I get is 18'-0 129/256".

Does anyone have a Dimension Family that does what I want?

I suppose I could change the Units Format to round off to something higher, but how do I get the number of spaces into the dimension string?

Don't all answer at once! Does anyone have a method for dimensioning joist spacing when the joists are o a sloping plane?

Hi,
Can you post a screenshot of your situation? I've just attempted to reproduce this and cannot. Is there a chance that your beams are slightly more than 18'-0" apart? (not as measured on the slope) I've attached an image of my test setup with a severe slope to try and accentuate the potential "lengthening". (also showing my units as set to display up to 1/256" so I should see any change)

If you can post an image or a set of steps to reproduce what you're seeing I'll be happy to dig into it more.

Thanks,
-Ken

If your using RS 09 you can use the dimension overrides to place the text. As for the rounding it to 18'-0". Normally you can't put in a distance but you can "trick it" as long as there is other text with it.
