Using a callout as an underlay?

I have one section cut that I have moved to two different positions along the same roof edge. I created two callout details, one at each position. Is it possible to make one callout detail an underlay to the other? This would help me to coordinate the placement and adjustment of the various building components. I know I can copy the first callout to the second, but if there are changes in the design, it would be nice to have one as an underlay.

Callouts can't be used as underlays.

Copying the first to the second would be the best way, but will require updating as you mentioned.

Don't know if it would really help but you could overlay them on a sheet however. Then you could activate the one you want to work on and see the other one "underneath"? Work?
