I am trying to make a mleader with a box around the text and also a background mask around the text. I can do both of these but the problem is the background mask doesn't line up with the border of the box. I can adjust the size of the mask but then it covers up the box. Is there any way to do this or am I just asking for too much?

Well I thought of that but the mask and the box to not center on the same point so reducing the size of the mask causes either the objects in the background to show up behind a corner of the box or part of the box to be wiped out. Doesn't seem to be a way to align the two to match

is the line space style for the text set to exact? being set to at least could possibly cause the mask not to line up.
