In the Identity Data on the Element Properties it has a general called Mark. How can I have that blank so when I put something in it, it does not put the same whatever on the next element I bring in? I supose I should just make my own parameter and not use mark. Is this correct? Thanks

Won't it be more work to create that parameter and change it everytime you want something different in it?

You should be able to just delete whatever is in that Mark box if you really don't need it.

I've been using Shared Parameters as my 'mark' and 'type mark' for tagging and scheduling and keyplanning. I use a catalogue for headers, beams, lintels, etc., and there is no way that I know to predefine those system parameters in the catalogue file. Managing an excel file for most of our familes has worked out great.
