Lines disapearing in sections when Merge Common Materials enabled

When doing sections the result is absolutly inconsistent when refreshing if Merge Common Materials is enabled for materials. Lines come and go when you refresh.

Issue has been known by Autodesk since 2005 and nothing has been done. Now its time to move on this!!!!!

It seems that merge common materials is a blunt edged tool - it will merge common materuals even if they are at a different depth within the elevation (from my experience).

Really the whole elevation / section thing needs an update? My understanding is that most people do not use the elevations / sections or at least explode them and then draw over...

I use them. You just have to work harder on your model though.
And yes - don't use merge materials.
