Model lines not printing

I have several model lines on a site plan to indicate concrete sidewalk control joints and expansion joints. For some reason, some of the lines show up when I print the sheet, but other lines do not show up. All of them show up fine on the screen.

The lines that do print are set to my 1st floor level. The lines that do not print are set to a lower level that is -4'-8" below the 1st floor level. I have the view range set to -7' below that 1st floor level.

Any clues as to why those lower lines show on the screen but won't print? These lower lines are all on floor objects (sidewalks) set to that lower level, and the sidewalk object itself prints fine, but the lines don't. I'd really rather have the lines on that sidewalk rather than floating up in space if possible.

I know it sounds weird because you already can see your lines, but what if you try using the Linework tool to make the lines show (even if they already do). Linework make objects that are outside the view range show and print, and if it is some sort of view range problem is, this trick may solve it...

Yeah I may end up doing that.

But that sounds like a band-aid solution. I'd like to know what is the cause for this behavior if possible.
