Saving in Revit

I am a new user and i fugured out that i have saved my first drawing as a template and cannot save it as a project file any suggestions?

Change the file extension to .rvt

File>New Project

pick your "template", let it open, and then Save. It will now be an RVT file. (you will still have the template available if needed)
