I have a stair that goes up 4'-0" and is monolithic. The problem I have is that the stair width changes from 4'-0" to 4'-6". The change occurs on the third 6th, 7th and 8th tread. Those treads need to be 4'-6" while the lower treads need to be 4'-0". Any help is appreciated. I've been trying to find someone who has run into the same problem, but maybe I'm using the wrong key words. Thanks.

Dean,
When building your stair, use "Boundary" instead of "Run" to create the two boundaries with the shape you want. Then use "Riser" and start adding risers manually. It will do exactly what you want.

Or, alternatively, create the stair with Run, then Edit the stair sketch and edit the boundary line. To avoid the 'stairs must consist of two boundary lines" error, I use the Split tool to create new 'corners' in the boundary line, without interuppting its continuity.
