CONVERTED TO LAYER STATES

When I open the Layer States Manager in AutoCAD 2008 I get this message:

"AutoCAD 2008 has detected snapshots or LMAN Express Tools layer states and has automatically converted them to AutoCAD layer states."

After I punch the "OK" button, the Layer States Manager proceeds to overwrite a layer state that I had previously set up inside that drawing.

How do I tell the software to NOT overwrite layer states that I have set up?

Do you have an older version of AutoCAD still? If so, open the drawing in that older version and rename the Layer States that were created with the Express Tools.

Unfortunately we do not have any older versions of AutoCAD in house.

We upgraded everyone as the firm implemented 'Revit'.

Not sure if this would work, but could you insert the affected drawing into a new drawing? I'm not sure if the layer state would migrate to the new drawing.
