Why does Revit always resize images to 72 DPI when bringing them in? If I have an image at 300dpi that is 10" wide (3000 pixels wide), it automatically changes it to a ginormous 41.67" wide (3000 pixels at 72 dpi). So then I have to know the original image size and change it accordingly on every image brought in.
I don't suppose there's any way to change it?

Nope. Just the way they wrote the software.

well bummer :(
I'm guessing the image will look better if it's resized in Revit, vs. changing it to 72 DPI outside of Revit and then bringing it in. If I bring it in Revit and re-size it, it should still retain all of the raster info, right?

yes, resizing within revit does not reduce pixel count.
Remeber to clarify between pixel dimensions and pixel density when talking about 'resolution' !
