Dormer Opening Tool

Has anyone else had an issue with this tool with 2009? Sometimes it works and most of the time it does not. If I create walls around the dormer roof I can force the host roof to see the opening. In the past all I had to do was select the dormer roof and the host roof would see the opeing area.

If anyone has a work around let me know.

hmm not sure what you're referring to. I have always selected a joined roof to create the top 2 edges, and 3 walls to create the remaining 3 edges of the opening. Last time I tried it, it worked just fine.

I use the vertical opening tool when the dormer tool fails me.
