Model Graphics Style of Linked Models

Is it possible to change the Model Graphics Style of a linked model into something other than the host model? I'd like the linked model to be wireframe and the host model shaded w/ edges. Any ideas?

I think the only way you could get something like this to show up is to duplicate the view that you want, monkey around with the visibility/graphics settings of each version of the view for the base & linked model, and then layer the two views onto a sheet next to each other or on top of each other, as the case may be.

Just a workaround - but not sure if there's any other option.
