I have 5.1 from the demo CD installed. In the meantime my office purchased the product, so I went through the "update my account' routine to activate the software and be able to save projects. I downloaded the update. When I try to install it the message say that there is another version installed and I must uninstall it first. If I do that won't I lose jy account and have to go through the routine again? What is the process?

You still have to do the uninstall, then reinstall routine. I know it's sounds carzy but there is no way to upgrade a version from one build to another without unistalling it. You can however have different versions (4.5, 5.0, and 5.1) installed at the same time. Your license fill will still be intact after the install, you shouldn't need to "update your account" again.
