Phase Override - Not working?

I have a project with existing and new phases. I've used phases extensivly in the past and have always had good luck. But this is my first project with phases since new functionality was added to phasing in RAC 2009.

So here's what I have. I have my existing phase to have projection and cut lines overridden with a color and thickness.

I have the existing phase patters 'NOT overriden'.

I have my existing phase material set to a solid grey color.

With those settings I would expect my existing elements to show in a new view, when set to filter overriden, with the projection lines showing the color and thickness in the phase settings and the cut pattern to show 'by material' for that wall layer, just lightened up per the phase material.

Problem is, my existing walls cut patterns are not showing the material they have been assigned with. I'm not sure why? If I have set the cut pattern for existing elements to not be overriden within the phase settings, shouldn't the assigned material show? They are showing another walls pattern for some reason and I cannot find where that pattern has been used anywhere in phase settings or the wall in question.

Any ideas?

Nevermind. Gotit.

It was the existing phase material that was set to solid fill grey. And the course fill pattern for that wall was set for the pattern that was showing. Which doesn't exactly make sense to me since the view was set to fine, so I'm not sure I understand that relationship.
