View Full Version : ceiling material

I need to represent a 2'x4' wood grained ceiling tile. I tried to add transparent layers in the ceiling structure, in the hope that I could see the layer beyond, but only one pattern showed, the one in front; regardless of the transparency of the front layer, the substrate did not show up. The grid still needs to be adjustable, like in a normal ceiling pattern, so that I can align it to adjacent geometry. I believe that because of that, a gridded wood image won't work. I wonder if anybody else ran into this problem.

Sorry to be prudent, but this forum is about SHEARING tips with others not about asking for tips.
...Unless this is your TIP of the day...

SHEARING is for SHEEP and similar wooly mammoths.

You might try modeling 2 celings (at the same location) then overide them or set the view visibility for ceilings to be transparant. I have not tried this but it may work. If it does then you'll have a tip to share. ;)
