best way to put 1x4 corner trim on ext walls

so far have just put GM on corners.
but maybe there is a better way

any seasoned "trimmers" out there..

I created a generic model family which I can adjust the height and offset from the level they are inserted into. I did not make them host to a wall, since sometimes, I bury part of it into a wall to get the look I want ( on corners with brick/siding). I made an object style of 'Ext. Trim' and assigned it to that so I have control over visibility of the corners. I usually don't like to see them on the floor plans, just elevations.

I have used a vertical wall sweep with a custom style assigned to turn visibility on/ off. With a little practice they are very quick to add from a 3d view.

I recently used an architectural column with an L shaped profile to create corner trim. I would be curious to hear any disadvantages to this method.
