Color Diagrams

Is there a way to generate a color diagram/ fill legend from imported cad data that has been exploded. The cad data is of an existing autocad drawing and is 2-D. We plan to place an addition on the building using Revit, however some renovation work is needed in the existing building. We would like to indicate this renovation work using a color diagram.

Any thoughts?

One way...create an area plan that has your dwg plan in it. Use the Area boundary feature and sketch the boundaries of your work. Then follow the usual methods for creating a color fill schedule for areas.

Thanks for the suggestion steve. I tried the area boudary, but was unable to get it to do exactly what I was looking for. Instead, I made a filled region and changed the color and pattern to reflect what I needed.
