I have a project that I want to upgrade to 2009. The upgrade cannot complete and gives me a bunch of errors where my only choice is to Delete the offending objects. (boooooo) The final error returns the following message and cannot be deleted.

"Cannot extend layer(s) of the highlighted vertically compound wall."

All I can do is cancel and the upgrade aborts. "Load cancelled"

This is just one of many projects I want to upgrade and I reeealy do not want to manage multiple releases of the same software. Who knows what other types of issues are out there...

Anyone else running into this? How are you dealing with it?

Thanks,
Chris

Most of the errors I've seen when upgrading projects (I've done about 40) were "pre-existing conditions". Try Auditing your project in 2008 and Review Warnings in 2008 before you upgrade. There are many things that Revit will let slide while you're working on a file. They are problems that will bite you eventually, but often don't show up until you upgrade.

Clean up as much as you can in 2008 & then try upgrading again.
