File organization

Still a new user. I was wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom as to file organization. I have some old textures and images from 3DS version 3 (I think-quite old!!!) and I thought they might be useful in the creation of new materials in Revit. Does everyone just put things in the Revit directory tree? any suggestions on the big picture for file organization would be helpful.

If you duplicate files, then you're chewing up your hard disk. Accurender will find the image files correctly if you add the path to the Rendering configuration in your options. And yes, I too still use all my 3ds files, (exported to dwg then Revit, along with the images under the map directory of 3ds 2.5, 4, 5, and 6.....
