I want to make some wall reveals that aren't horizontal, nor vertical. Check the attachment. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

You will need to make a wall hosted generic family that comprises a void cutting into the wall. The shape is then up to you.

Probably a VERY newbie question...
How do you do a wall hosted family?
I tried with : Create->generic model-> void.
The result was an orange void object placed on the wall, not cutting it.

Can you be a little more specific about the procedure?

I would have created the reveal as a sub category of a wall element rather than a generic model. Other than that you are on the right track.

You then need to subtract this void. So while still in the family select the Tools->cut geometry tool and select the void and then the wall in question.

dpasa, I've found a continuous void sweep is a great deterent to performance on some projects I've worked on. If this reveal is continuous, you might want to rethink the approach and add to the wall versus taking away from it. and GuyR is correct, you were almost there, simply tell Revit what you want the void taken out of...
