View Full Version : Rotating a PFC

Hi

I have been trying to find a way of rotating a PFC so that it appears correctly in both plan and section, without having to play with "Lateral Justification" or "Z-Direction Justification" and such forth as these can lead to unpredictable results - i.e. PFC beams sitting offset from the level, not connecting correctly to columns and so forth.

Please have a look at the attached image. I want the large outside face of the PFC to be fixed to the top level of the family, so that it sits on a level and I want it too trim to a column like a normal beam. I have been trying to achieve this for a good hour without success. The steel size that I want is a 200x90x30PFC

Thank you for any help, it is appreciated.

Kind Regards

Could you upload your Revit model as well?

My first thought is that I would like to use both Z-Direction and Lateral justification set to Center, but I would like to see how they are used in your model.

Thank you for your offer to help Steve.

I have sent an email to the email address you have listed in your profile here. I prefer not to upload it onto a public forum.

Cheers.

Rob,

I have contacted support about this in March, their response was:
"This is a known issue, and it will be fixed in futer releases."
So fingers crossed...

RSA's behave the same way too. I understand that we can
probably repair these families, but who has the time for this?

Quick question, do you feed back directly to AutoDesk? As a senior technician I would also like the ability to do that. Could you PM or email me the contact details please so that I can start an open dialogue between by own and their offices.

I think when they say they contacted Autodesk, they do it by creating a support request through subscription center...

That's the one. They are quite good, but not as good as searching AUGI ;)
Most requests come back with "we'll add it to the wish list".
