in 2009, a new "feature" was going to be the ability to add txt around a dimension
the new menu allows you to put txt or other information above, below, left, right or change dimension number to a txt entry
in 2008, in a plan view, we would put a txt block below a wall penetration (e.g. a door) that said "M.O."
in 2009, in a plan view, we were hoping that this new "feature" would allow us to integrate "M.O." into the dimension string. here in lies a problem, by default, it seems to grey out the 'above' & 'below' and put the height of the door into the 'below' field.
BUT, in the elevation it does not grey out the 'above' and 'below' or put the height of the component (e.g. door) into the 'below' field.
Whats the point of having the ability to put information in fields around a dimension if the ones that you would want to put something into a field is greyed-out with a number that has no bearing in that view (e.g. the height of a door in plan view) especially if you cant even "show it" or "use it"?
please see attached images for reference of plan & elevation views
has anyone else noticed this?
