Just wondering how many of you are using Civil 3D with Revit and if you are what are your thoughts? We will be using the two together very soon so I'm curious as to what type of reaction that I will get. :?:

Hi mwenta

We don't have Civil 3d but our civil engineers and surveyors use it. It really works very well with Revit. All the site works can be down easily in Civil 3d.
What typically you can do, is get your hands on the site survey. Typically this will be a dwg file with the contours in 3d. Link this into Revit and generate your existing topography from the countors.
Locate your building on the site, and then export it to a dwg format. Xref this dwg into Civil 3d and do all those wonderful site work tool on the site that Civil 3d can do. Save your updated file as a dwg file with 3d contours.
Link this back into Revit and generate the new proposed topography.
