2007 render background

Ok is there any way to change the default render background in ACAD 2007? I have been all thru the posts and there only seems to be "create a custom view" that will allow the back ground to be changed in the render enviroment.
Is that the only way to do it? Thats' not very user freindly. And it makes animation impossible.
I would like to be able to orbit around my design and re-render without having to go thru 20 extra steps to set a new view render color every time my camera changes posistion. please tell me there is a system veriable or something that will change the default render background color.

I figuered a trick to get it to work sorta, turn on the fog in the render enviroment and set it to affect background yes. that will give you a different color background but the farther the camera get from the object, the more blurred and faded the image gets, so it's not a perfect solution.:cry:
