Hi

I'm trying to export an IFC of the steelwork for a building. It is generating a huge file of around 500MB+ and then it won't open in ArchiCAD.

There are alot of curved beams in the file and these seem to be the source of the problem.

Is there any way of setting the resolution of models in Revit so that the subsequent IFC export is at a lower resolution?

TIA

Nick

I have posted similar questions on other forums. including Autodesk's own one. I never get an answer, so we are assuming Autodesk's IFC export function in Revit is faulty.

I hope Autodesk address this problem in Revit 2010

Could you try the same resulting ifc file to open in Revit? If this works, I doubt this is Revit side issue.

We have tried this also. some walls, some slabs, some columns, missing.

There is some more on my issue at this forum: http://www.draftsperson.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=65

Yeah I don't much understand why when you export a model as an IFC straight from Revit, then try to put it right back into Revit it doesn't work properly... some of my walls don't even come in

Please report problems like that through Support for investigation. Thanks.
