project coordinates/linking models

i have to admit that i dont really understand the Revit coordinate system..
i am trying to link in the architectural revit model into my structural one and have them line up.

i picked a grid intersection on the architectural model and listed the coordinates, then i went into my structural model and picked them same grid intersection and speicified the same coordinates at the same location as the architectural model.

now when i link them together they still do not properly align.

i know tat i am missing something here.

as always all help is appreciated greatly.

Is the building rotated to true north?

Are you using project or shared co-ordinate system?

Have you linked the model by origin or by centre.

Link the architectural model into your structural model, and move it to the desired location. View the properties of the linked file. Click the <Not Shared> button next to ‘Shared Location’. Select the option to “Publish the shared coordinate system of the current project…” then select “Reconcile”.
