Linework

I can draw using drafting lines in "Legends" but linework doesnt work for families. bummer.

Depending on the objects you want in a legend, you could instead, create a new future phase (so they don't schedule), add them to a view (plan or elevation) and use them to create a view "like a legend". Doing that you can use tags, linework, etc...

I looove future phases. Between them and dependant views, ive all but replaced all of our legends...

Thanks Andre for the tip. I was trying to make a door and window schedule. Coz my Archicad colleague can do an automated elevation of door and windows in there schedule but its not to scale, cannot be dimensioned and cannot draw extra lines. So I'm trying to make a comparison. Which is better in Revit except the manual method of dropping those doors and windows in the sched.
