I am a new user of AutoCAD LT 2005 after using full AutoCAD versions up to 2004. I really miss the layer controls provided by Express Tools (isolating layers, returning to previous states, etc.). Is there a way to get this functionality with LT?

Check out LT Express (http://www.ltexpress.com/en/).

Or, if you prefer a better price tag (like FREE), try these:

We use them and like them. The writer actually frequents the Autodesk Discussion Groups should you have any questions.

Just loaded AcadLT2005 and like the rest immediatley missed the express tools. Tried the free set, had to make a couple of minor adjustments but they seem to work fine. Still miss the layer manager in express though, much easier to use. Still, all in all a great set of tools and thanks for the tip Jennifer.

Some similar express tools that work with AutoCAD LT

Layers off by selection
Lock layer by selection
Unlock all
all layer off but current
Construction - place all construction lines on its own layer
Dimensions - place all dimensions on its own layer

The above work with spaces in the layer names

code is on a free website http://www.project-engineers.co.uk with step by step instruction and code you can paste into buttons
