i placed light fixtures in ceiling (simple enough) ...then i started making a fixture legend and as i placed the fixtures (legend componant) i noticed they actualy appear differently than they do in the reflected ceiling plan....example....pendant has a few other circles visable in the legend componant and in the reflected ceiling plan all i get is the outermost circle....when i pass curser over fixture in the reflected ceiling plan the the "inner circles" light up in red....so, they are there, they just dont show

This has to do with the potential defaults on how a legend displays, and how a plan/RCP display. Make sure they are both set to display hidden lines or whatever. This will help. Also legends do not have cut planes, so this might affect how they display as well.

Is there no fix for this? I have ended up drawing what light fixtures look like and ceilings look like (because there's no plan view option in the legend) with detail lines and filled regions. This is a workaround. If something does not to display in the legend the same way it does in plan then there is no point to the legend.

If anyone knows how to fix this I'm thoroughly grateful.

Thanks,
markus

switch your legend to wireframe and it should take care of it.

Brilliant! Thanks cstanley, now if I can only get a ceiling plan view of ceiling types.

Eh I would probably just use a filled region with the same model pattern as the ceiling anyway, since you would probably have more control over the object than if it did give you a ceiling plan view of a ceiling type. Not to mention you can dimension it, which a legend component may or may not let you do.
