Any problems or issues installing this pack using AutoCAD 08?

The only thing I've heard is that you can't run dual monitors. It screws it up somehow. The solution is to uninstall SP3, so if you are running dual monitors, I wouldn't install it.

I run dual monitors, although AutoCAD is contained on a single one, and I run all my other apps on the second screen. I have SP3, and havent any issues.

That may be it. I'm running Vista, so I don't know for sure. It's just something I read somewhere.

We're running XP Professional SP-3 and no probs with dual monitors on AutoCAD 2008 MEP Suite. And our IT guys rolled out the Microsoft Blunder Cover er sorry Service Pack to us pretty shortly after it was released.
I draw on 1 monitor and all the Palettes/Properties/Xref/Calc/Design Center are all open on the 2nd monitor and I have noticed no lag or problems (that weren't there on SP 2) 1280 x 1024 on both NEC 19" LCD's.
I have an older NVidia card and not a ton of memory so I have other operating probs but none from SP-3.
Even using the Drawing Tabs (MdiTab17.arx) weren't affected.
Please let me know if there is anything I should be keeping an eye out for... thx

I've been running dual monitors with SP3 since about a month after it first came out. As have several, if not all, of my coworkers. Both on ACAD 2008, 2009 & Revit Structure 2009.
The issue with the dual monitors is if you have one rotated 90 degrees (taller instead of wider). There are a few other posts about that in these forums, sorry, I don't have them in front of me to link you to them.

Just in case it makes a difference - remember that although running two monitors from one graphics card is common, it is also possible to run two (or even four) monitors from two separate cards.

The problem with XP SP3 is specifically related to rotated monitors. I have 2 different sized monitors so I rotate one. when SP3 installed I restarted and my second monitor was all screwed up. after an hour trying to figure out what the problem was, I went to the web and found that other people had been having the same problem and there aren't any confirmed fixes that i've found yet.

The only computer here that has SP3 does not have ACAD installed. But from what I have seen, SP3 will remove certain features of Windows. If those features are some how incorporated in ACAD 08, then there might be an effect...

So the question is "what features?"

I've had trouble with my home PC, since SP3 the explorer.exe takes a very long time (over 10 min) to start, or I'll even have to use Task Manager to kill it and then start it again to get it to work.
But it has not affected AutoCAD in anyway I can see.
PS: This prob only showed up last week and I'm still fighting with it.

Why would you want 4 monitors? I would have at least one of them be for watching
television. Not very productive.
