Can't see my column in plans ?

I am having a problem viewing my columns that are in my 1st floor plan, they are there but the plan does not show them. If I extend them one floor up then I can view them in the 1st floor plan, but not when they go only one height. I offset the top and then I can see them but then they extend from the floor. So what can I do? But the columns that are connected to a wall are visible.

I a beginner so there has to be some small thing that I am missing?

Can you attach the column family that you are having trouble with, and tell us what the view range settings are set at in your First Floor Plan?

Also, check the view range with in the column family itself as it has influence on how the column shows in your project.
