View Full Version : Solid mass colors

I am experimenting with masses. I have created a mass family and loaded it into my project file. I've modified the material properties for the mass by setting the transparency to zero. Placed the mass on level 1, and with model graphics style set to shading with edges, I get the solid color represented in the view, same with a 3d view. I copy the mass and place it on level 2. In the level 2 plan view, shading with edges, I get a solid color, but the shade is lighter. It doesn't match the color I see on level 1. 3D views have colors of all masses on all levels matching.

I've tried different colors, but the effect is always the same, the upper level is a lighter shade and it is noticeable. I've added levels, and copied masses to the additional upper levels. All the masses on the upper levels are the same lighter shade of the color on level 1. I've also done the same experiment with in-place masses, and get the same result.

Is there a setting I'm missing, or do any of you get a similar result?

Hi there.
I have tried to replicate the issue on my side and do not get the same result.
could you post the family file and a the sample project where you are getting the issue...
could you also tell me the version of Revit you are using please...

You can verify if there's any advanced model graphics turned On on those views (shadows, sun position, etc.)

Make sure the settings on advanced model graphics are set the same as the view on level 1.

We have seen people having problems with darker colors because of that...

At Andres suggestion, I looked at the Advanced Model Graphics setting for each of the level views. Indeed, the Sun and Shadows Settings were set differently. The lighter colors were a result of a "still" setting, while the darker colors were a result of a "single-day" setting.

Thanks for the pointers.
