Material Takoff unlocking materials

I have a wall with exterior siding. i am trying to unlock the siding and drag the bottom down to cover my floor framing. when i do that my material takeoff schedule shows other materials growing. seems like just the siding area should grow and not the interior gyp etc. am i doing something wrong?

Hi. I have tried to replicate the issue and when i drag down the wall layer, the only layer that grows is the layer that i am modifying.

so just to make sure, how are you changing that layer, have you unlocked the bottom edge of that layer in the "wall - Edit-Assembly" Dialogue. and then in a section or elevation selected that wall and then dragged the drag arrows to lengthen that layer of the wall.
