Lighting question

I grouped all of my lights into a grid pattern following the structure grid and turned on only two that is in my render. I started the render and it only shows 5 lights but I have 18. I tried different ways in the lights area, but still comes up with 5. I did not how ever let the render keep going. Do the others eventually show up as being in the render. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Couple of things come to mind.

1. Is this project an upgrade from release 08?
if so than you need to convert the other lights to 09 by editing and resaving the fainilies
2. Are they actually truned on in the artificial lighiing dialogue?
