Hey,
hope someone has a simple answer for this, haven't had much chance to look into this but figured I would ask for some pointers before I start with stupid mistakes. Basically a project I'm working on involves new road layouts and parking which I need to model. I have done the actual physical aspect of the layout but need to get some of the road markings on this, they are on a dwg layer so is there a way i can make road markings more efficiently than making a new surface a few mm above the road surface, granted there are some slopes involved? I used to use the 3rd party glue script in 3ds max, but would rather keep everything in revit if at all possible.
Cheers everyone

You don't have to create new surfaces. Just use the subregion tool. It will follow the slopes of the main toposurface.

ah, i've modeled the new road and layouts simply as floors, seemed like the best solution at the time. Is there anything similar you can do with floors, or should I redo it as a toposurface?

No, if it is flat, keep it as floors. You could try using Split Surfaces, then.

Sorry for the delayed reply, thanks again though andre. I'm a little confused with the split surfaces suggestion, I've used this before with toposurfaces, however if I go to do the same thing with a floor entity, the button for the tool is greyed out. Is there a different tool for this or am I going about this the wrong way. If there is a way of splitting the surface as can be done with toposurfaces this will definetely be a good method for what I need to do.
Cheers again

I'm sorry. I wrote Split Surfaces, but what I meant was "Split Face". You can find it in the options bar, just beside the paint bucket. Split faces work with floors, walls, etc... Once you split the face it will allow you to apply a different materials to them by using the paint bucket.
