In-place families and associated levels

Is it possible to give an in-place family an associated level?

Such as changing the level/workplane afterwards or placing it on a work plane in general?

If modifying then edit the family and select "Edit Work Plane" in the toolbar....

If placing on a particular work plane upon creation select "Plane" in toolbar and specify the level or reference plan you want.
