Im a newbie in Revit trying to customize a template. Somehow now when I go to add a room tag, nothing happens.

Anyone care to turn on the light?

Welcome to Revit and the Forums.
Can you possibly elaborate on what you are trying to do? It's not really clear to me what the problem might be.
Are you trying to load a room tag into your template or are you trying to tag a room object that is already placed in your template?

Hi Arkitec,

Welcome to the forum.

Are you trying to tag the room from the drafting tab menu?
If so the room has to be "created" first.

Go to the "rooom and area" tab and use the "room" button.
this will create the room and place a tag there for you.

If the room had already been created, but no tag is present, you can then re-tag the room from the drafting menu.

If Andrew's suggestion does not work, it is possible that room tags are turned off in that view.

Check the visibility graphics override (VV or VG).....you'll find room tags under the annotation tab. It is also possible that the room tags are turned off by element, rather than category. Click the lightbulb at the bottom of the screen to view hidden elements. You unhide by selecting the element and clicking the 'unhide' button.

That said, i suspect you don't have a room placed since you mentioned that this was a new template.
