So I have a skp file and want to bring it into 2009 but I want to be able to rotate it. Is this possible? Can I do something in Sketchup to make this happen? Thanks

Just import it and use the rotate tool.

Also, it is a good idea to change it to be work planed based, so it will follow the slope of the face you are adding it to, and uncheck "Always vertical" if you want the object to lay if the workplane is vertical... You can change these under Settings > Family Category and Parameters.

I just tested it with your file and it does...

I was able to rotate it in that file but not when I put it in the project. Is that what you did or am I missing something?

No I haven't rotated after loading into the project. I just set the family (while editing the family) to be work plane based and unchecked Always vertical. Then I loaded it into the project and picked the "Place on Face" icon (see the green icon in the top left corner of the first image. After that, the luggage rotates as I hover over different planes as both pictures show.
