Void forms with solid swept blend problems.

I have made this roof with the solid swept blend command.

I then wished to make a void extrusion to make to make the roof plumb.

When i finished the void rev it would not let me pick the roof to cut from the void , or visa versa.

View the attached pics to understand what is happening.

WIll someone let me know if they have a way around this or they know a better solution?

How did you make the roof? Did you use the massing tool and apply a roof by face,
or did you make an in place family?

If you have done a roof by face you’ll need to edit the original mass. In that family you need to create the void that cuts the mass. Usuallythis is done automatically, but if not, you’ll need to cut it manually. When you finish, just press the remake button while the roof is selected.

If you made the roof as an in place family , you'll need to create the void when the roof is in edit mode.

I made it with an in place family. I should have known this but i was confused. Thank you for helping me, you saved me alot of time and headache.
