Conflict coordination..... is it possible?

How can Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP be linked together and used for conflict coordination?
Is this feature of Revit actually helpful and what are the things to keep in mind while modelling if conflict coordinaion has to be done at a later stage?
Also any ideas on the amount of work that would go into it?

Yes

One of the first big things I see, is in the nature of building an Architectural 3D model and then building the structure and MEP around it, will be the first big step in ensuring the design team are speaking the same language and understand the design.
Having the models linked together, you will naturally see the major issues as you go through your daily work on the model.
There is a specific coordination tool in Revit for a clash detection. It’s imported to only run the clash detection on the important major element you want to ensure are coordinated (eg Structural framing and Mechanical ducting) other wise you will be over loaded. The clash detection in Revit however does not have the power that Navisworks has. Any improvements in Revit would be welcomed, but it always needs to be remembered that the finer clash detection can not be fully resolved until shop drawings start to be generated. What our MEP and some times Structural Engineers draw are performance based. So by the time the shop drawer, draws it, the elements are often smaller or bigger.

You mention that interference check in Revit does not have the power that Clash detection has in Revit. Can you please be a bit more specific and provide details? What makes the Navisworks Clash detection so much more powerful?
