Trying to load Autocad Map 3D on Vista 64bit?

Has anyone had any experiance with Loading Map 3D on a 64 bit operating system? At my place of employment, we have been installing AutoCad thru network deployments isnce 2003, and have been having problems every time with each upgrade. This year they have finaly upgraded my computer from Windows 2000, to Vista 64bit with Service Pack 1. I was supposed to get XP 64bit, but that was changed last minute. Are we barking up an invisable tree?

Just make sure you install the 64-bit version of Map. The 32-bit version won't work.

There is no 64-bit version of Map.

There is a 64-bit installer available, though. I had to actually ask the Map Support Team to get it...

There are some older Map functions that don't work under 64-bit, with MAPIINSERT for image insertion being the biggest loss, IMO. To insert a georeferenced image, you'll need Raster Design, which will also be tricky to install... I'll try to find the info about that after I get home

AutoCAD Map 3D software does not support 64-bit operating systems.

Map WILL run, but there are some features that won't be available. FDO connections seem OK, but some older (pre-Mako) functions auger in.

Likewise with Civil 3D. C3D 2009 actually will install OOTB in 64-bit, as a 32-bit app. I haven't run into any actual C3D functions that fail due to the 64-bit OS, but the same Map functions fail, with MAPIINSERT being the one I miss most.

You need the 64 bit exe, call your reseller they can get it for you.
