disable F8 function key

does anyone know how to disable the F8 key in XP Pro so that i can use the F8 key in AutoCad for the ORTHO keyboard shortcut. when i hit F8 in AC i get a blue screen with gears displayed

Sounds to me like someone has been messing with your keyboard shortcuts in your CUI file.
