A few questions on backup files:

1. Is there a way to let revit save the backups in a different folder than on the same folder of the active file?

2. The default amount of backups is 3. You can manually change that per project. Is there a way to change the default backup settings on all projects?

3. Revit makes backups in the folder where you save the active file and in the journal folder on the C:/ drive. Is there a way to disable backups in the journal folder?

4. On occasions Revit makes 50 backups op more in one session, while the backups are set to 3. Worksets are not enabled. How can i fix this?

1. No

2. Backups at 3 is 3 per user that may enter the file 3 users, may generate a total of nine backups.

3. No

4. f it is set to 3, you may see a backup numbered 50, but there should only be three. Using/starting worksets will shift the location of backups.

good questions...It would be nice if it saved back ups with say a .bak suffix and the folder only show the .rvt and rfa files. The folders really get messy with all the back up files. Is this a wish list item yet?

here is a screenshot of the a project called blok 4 (2009)_ ,i've been working on today. For some reason Revit makes a huge amount of backups, while the backups are set to value 3.

(the date is set to international standards (day-month-year))
