I am getting a couple staff with this issue now... so I need to figure this out before I get roasted... ha, ha, ha.... Out of the blue their double click action has stopped working... You know double click on something and it starts the appropriate command...

I checked under the options pull down and pop up dialogue box and the double click action box was still checked... So I am unsure what has happened...

Any suggestions...

These folks are not very happy finding the old way to activate their commands....

Thanks...

Double-clicks are defined by the CUI files. Make sure they are ok.

Well I did check this... it did make sense that this would be the issue, but they seemed to be O.K. I have seen that before... way back when we got these systems set up... Someone in there infinite wisdom customized a base setup for everyone... it stripped away all the double click mouse actions and right click actions and a few other things... but gave us a couple special menus they made... ouch!... rather then adding to the new menu they tried to build from scratch their own...

I had fun fixing lots of computers back then... So I thought that was what this was also, but it seems not to be the case...

Still a mystery...

Double-clicks are a first in-first win element. What is your CUI structure?

BTW, I've moved this to the CUI forum.

What is your CUI structure?

In what way do you mean?... Who know this could be our problem a lack of understanding of the CUI customization process...

It would be nice if I could just transfer all my settings from my computer if this was an issue... because I have no problems... I had tried this in the past... saved both the profile and CUI... and tried to import them into a system...

I may need to have a better idea on how to correctly do this to get it to work correctly if this was an option...

It is not something you do every day so it is not something that will stick... But it would be good to know... Even for exporting to a safe location a backed up version of your settings... after you are happy...

BTW, I've moved this to the CUI forum.

I think this was a bit premature...

I noticed something on one of the systems when I was asked another question from one of these users... I noticed she was having troubled just selecting items and editing... preselecting... and selecting multiples... Her Noun/verb selection wasn't checked... and it had Use Shift to add to selection checked... Both these are typical for us to have opposite to what she had...

Strangely enough... when I changed these she was able to double click on items again?

This doesn't totally make sense... but it is what happened... Try it and you will see...

This will disable your double click options... If the following is set...
under the Options - Selections - Selection Modes
Noun/verb selection Not Checked
& Use Shift to Add to Selection Checked...

I will have to check the other system later when that guy is less busy... and see if his problem is the same one... 8)

Thanks for posting the resolution.

BTW, it is still probably the best forum, since many would look to the CUI first to deal with double-click issues.

Good Point...

I checked the other system… it was the same setting...

Actually in his case it was just the Noun/Verb setting... So that would be the true trouble maker...

Thank you so much for posting the solution to this problem. We just had the same exact issue in ACAD 2010, and I probably would have ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the entire system had I not found this thread. The odd thing is, the Noun/verb selection setting seemed to change when the user loaded a particular file. I didn't think that setting was file-specific, but it could also be related to program crash the user had just prior to the setting change. Anyway, everything is back to normal now! Thanks guys!

Also just nearly pulled my hair out over this problem with AutoCAD 2010! Interestingly it also seems to disable the delete key on the keyboard for some reason
