Railing Length Tag

Basically, that's it. I need to create a tag that will give me the length of a railing. I know this information is in the properties of the railing (i.e., Length = 10'), but I can't figure out how to get this info into a tag. I have crated a schedule that has this length, but again, not sure how to get that info into the tag.

Maybe just as effective to place a dimension?
Why is a tag with length required?

The tag may not identify exactly where the dimension is to?

end of post, center of pipe rail, etc.

If its a railing within a balustrade family, then I'm pretty sure you can't tag it at all.
